Six Senses Hideaway

Six Senses Hideaway, Ninh Van Bay, Nha Trang

As the name suggests, Six Senses Hideaway is tucked away in a secluded bay with boat access only. The resort is beautifully maintained and guests stay in villas just a few steps from the ocean. In front is a quiet sandy beach fringed by impressive rock formations and behind, mountains form a natural backdrop. At the resort, you feel more like Robinson Crusoe on an island with luxurious amenities. To get there, you need to take a taxi to the sister resort, Evason Ana Mandara, a few minutes from Nha Trang city centre and from there, hop onto a private boat that takes you on a 20-minute ride to Ninh Van Bay, where the resort is located.

The spa is equally impressive -- you walk on huge stone slabs "floating" on water leading to the main reception where you do the usual things, fill up a questionnaire, have a drink and wait for your therapist to lead you to your treatment room. Surprisingly, the "room" is actually a wooden hut perched on a jungle slope with views of the tropical forest. The choice of treatments is standard but it's the whole rustic beach experience that makes all the difference.

Six Senses is possibly one of the most romantic beach destinations in Vietnam and it holds its own against better-known resorts in Maldives and other islands at a fraction of the price. Do check out their Six Senses Spa three-night package for two which includes round-trip airport and boat transfers, daily breakfast, one in-villa barbeque dinner and one Oriental Spa Package. | www.sixsenses.com
